Plastic Pallets

Cleaner, Stronger Pallets Built to Last

Plastic pallets outlast wood many times over. They will not splinter, rot, absorb moisture or shed nails, they are easy to wash, and every pallet stays the same size and weight trip after trip. JB Equipment supplies a full range for warehouses, distribution centres, food plants, retailers and exporters, from light nestable shipping pallets to reinforced pallets rated for racking.

Choose from 13 pallet types and 23 models: nestable, rackable, stackable, double-deck, extra-long and retail display pallets, plus a pallet dolly. Each product page lists every JB part number with full dimensions and static, dynamic and racking capacities.

How to Choose a Plastic Pallet

  • Decide how pallets will be storedFloor stacking, block stacking and racking each need different designs. If loaded pallets will sit on rack beams, choose a rackable model with a stated racking capacity.
  • Plan for empty palletsIf empties travel back to you or sit in storage, a nestable pallet can take up a fraction of the space of a stackable one.
  • Match the footprint to your loadKeep loads from overhanging the deck. Use 48 × 48 for drums, 72 × 48 for long items, and 42 × 30 or 24 × 24 where space is tight.
  • Check your equipmentConfirm whether forklifts, pallet trucks, conveyors or automated systems need four-way entry, runners or a full bottom deck.
  • Think about hygieneFor food, pharmaceutical and wash-down areas, choose a smooth closed deck or an open flow-through deck that drains and dries quickly.
  • Consider colour and materialBlack is standard. Coloured and virgin HDPE pallets help with colour-coding and cleanliness, while recycled-content pallets lower cost per trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are plastic pallets better than wood pallets?

For reusable, closed-loop and hygienic applications, usually yes. Plastic pallets do not splinter, rot, absorb moisture or hold nails, they are easy to clean, and they keep a consistent size and weight for automation. They cost more up front, so they make the most sense when the pallets are used many times or when cleanliness matters.

Can plastic pallets be used in pallet racking?

Only rackable models. Choose a pallet with runners, stringers or internal reinforcement, and check its racking capacity and whether it is rated for edge-supported or unsupported racking. Our nestable pallets are not intended for racking, so use a rackable, nest-and-rack or reinforced model instead.

Do plastic pallets need ISPM 15 treatment for export?

No. ISPM 15 heat-treatment and fumigation rules apply to wood packaging. Plastic pallets are exempt, which makes them a simple choice for international shipping. Many of our models are specifically listed as ISPM 15 exempt.

What do static, dynamic and racking capacity mean?

Static capacity is the load the pallet holds sitting still on a flat floor, including when stacked. Dynamic capacity is the load it can carry while being moved by a forklift or pallet truck. Racking capacity is the load it can hold when supported only by rack beams. Ratings assume evenly distributed loads.

Should I choose a nestable or a stackable pallet?

Nestable pallets fit inside each other when empty and save a great deal of return-freight and storage space, but most are not built for racking. Stackable and rackable pallets have runners or a full base that spreads the load, so they are better for stacking loaded pallets and for racking.

What size plastic pallet do I need?

The 48 × 40 in size is the North American standard and fits most racking, trucks and equipment. Use 48 × 48 for drums and larger loads, 42 × 30 or 24 × 24 for narrow spaces and retail displays, and 72 × 48 for long products. Tell us your load size and weight and we will help you choose.

Do you deliver plastic pallets?

Yes. We deliver across the GTA and ship across Canada. Send us the part numbers and quantities you need with your delivery location, and we will quote the pallets and freight.

Need pallets by the truckload or just a few?

Tell us the pallet type, quantity and delivery location, and we will send a quote. Not sure which pallet fits? Describe your load and how you store it, and we will recommend one.
