Close the Opening, Keep Traffic Moving

A low-cost way to separate areas without slowing people or forklifts down.

  • Save energyCut heating, cooling and refrigeration loss through open doors and dock openings.
  • Safer doorwaysClear PVC lets drivers and pedestrians see each other through the opening.
  • Control noiseHelp isolate noisy machines and process areas from the rest of the plant.
  • Block dust and pestsKeep out drafts, dust, fumes, insects and birds.
  • Safe, tight sealRounded edges will not cut, and overlapping curved strips seal against each other.
  • Easy to maintainReplace single strips as they wear instead of the whole curtain.

Mounting Options

Every curtain comes with the mounting hardware it needs. Tell us which mount suits your opening, or send a photo and we will recommend one.

Lintel mount
Lintel mountHangs under the door header on a 2-1/2" × 1-1/2" × 1/8" galvanized steel angle. Best where the strips need to sit inside the opening.
Wall mount
Wall mountFastens flat to the wall above the opening on a 2-1/2" × 1/8" galvanized steel flat bar. The most common and economical choice.
Off-wall mount
Off-wall mountBrackets hold the curtain out from the wall to clear pipes, door tracks or other obstructions.
Sliding track
Sliding trackStrips hang from trolley carriers on a track, so the whole curtain slides aside for wide loads or open-door days.
Gravity swing
Gravity swingHinged arm lets the curtain swing out of the way and return on its own.
Swing bar
Swing barStrips hang from a pivoting bar so sections can be swung up and out of the way when needed.

Standard Door Sizes

Standard curtains use 8" wide strips with 50% overlap. Sizes are opening width × height. Other sizes, strip widths and 100% overlap are made to order.

Strip Curtain Questions

Which PVC should I use for a cooler or freezer?

Use low-temp (USDA) PVC. It stays flexible down to about -40 °C, while standard PVC is rated to about -23 °C. For busy cold doors, low-temp ribbed or reinforced strips add wear resistance.

How much strip overlap do I need?

50% overlap suits most interior doorways. 100% (full) overlap gives a tighter seal for exterior doors, coolers, freezers and windy openings.

How do I measure for a strip curtain?

Measure the opening width and height, and note whether the hardware will mount on the wall above the opening or under the header. Send us the measurements and a photo and we will confirm the size and mount.

Can forklifts drive through strip curtains?

Yes. Strip curtains are made for traffic doors and loading docks. Ribbed PVC and wider strips hold up better to forklift traffic, and a sliding track lets you move the whole curtain aside for wide loads.

Can I replace damaged strips?

Yes. Individual strips can be replaced without changing the whole curtain. We supply replacement strips, pre-cut strips and PVC rolls.

Do you install strip curtains?

Yes. JB Equipment installs strip curtains and full strip enclosures across the GTA and Southern Ontario, and ships curtains and replacement strips across Canada.
