Push back racking gives you high-density storage with more pick faces than traditional high-density systems like drive-in. Pallets are stored 2 to 6 deep on nested carts and loaded and unloaded from a single aisle, on a first-in, last-out (FILO) basis.
How it works
Pallets are placed on nested carts that ride on inclined rails. Each new pallet pushes the one in front of it back. When a pallet is removed, the next one rolls gently forward to the aisle, so the pick face is always full.
- 2 to 6 pallets deep per lane
- Loaded and unloaded from one aisle
- Up to 3,000 lb per pallet position in standard designs
- More pick faces than drive-in racking

Compact and flexible
Push back systems need less space than pallet flow systems because there is no separate loading aisle. Lanes can be arranged as back-to-back runs or as stand-alone bays against a wall, and each level can hold a different product.
