Product overview
Pallet pullers let a forklift move pallets that are out of reach of its forks, such as loads pushed to the nose of a trailer or container, or wedged against a wall or another load. The puller’s jaws grip the pallet’s deck board, a chain connects the puller to the forklift, and the jaws clamp tighter as the forklift backs up, drawing the pallet to where the forks can reach it. Two models are available, along with a matching pull chain. Each model has its own photos in its section below.
Choosing a model
- JKBH863 dual-handle scissor puller (blue): the wider 9-1/4-inch jaw opening and 3-inch jaw height handle thicker deck boards. Hardened teeth give a positive grip on any pallet, and it can pull straight or sideways to work loads out of tight spots. 5,000 lb pulling capacity.
- JMBO018 single-scissor puller with shackle (red): a single scissor action with a 5-inch jaw opening and 2-inch jaw height, and a shackle for connecting a chain hook. The higher 6,000 lb pulling capacity suits heavier loads.

JLBU982 pull chain
The JLBU982 is a 20-foot, 5/16-inch Grade 70 transport chain with a grab hook on each end, sized for use with either pallet puller. Hook one end to the puller and the other to the forklift.
- High-quality stamped Grade 70 chain links.
- Grade 70 alloy steel clevis grab hooks on each end.
- Working load limit of 4,700 lbs (2.35 tons) with a 4:1 design factor.
- Manufactured in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations.
- Each assembly has an attached rating tag to meet NSC Standard 10 requirements.
- Yellow chromate finish.
- Length: 20 ft (6.1 m). Trade size: 5/16 inch. Weight: 21 lbs.
Safety notes
- Pallet pullers are for pulling only. They are not designed for lifting.
- Grade 70 transport chain must not be used for overhead lifting.
- The working limit of the setup is the lowest rating of the puller and the chain. With the JLBU982 chain, that is 4,700 lbs.
- Pull slowly and steadily, keep people clear of the chain while pulling, and check the jaws, teeth and chain for wear before each use.
